Born in Nuoro in 1984, lives and works between Nuoro and Brussels.
The idea of home is always present in her work. Rachele Sotgiu’s tools are the everyday objects and daily actions, along with large and small oil paintings, recyclable materials like ceramics, pots, mirrors, and small objects like a golf ball.
The elements – real, represented or reproduced - combined in her installations are rich in symbolism, they blend and repeat, never revealed to the viewer.
Silence and solitude are essential elements.
These objects are entangled in compositions, transforming themselves from time to time into something different. The images in the paintings often duplicate or mimic reality by creating a mirror between the two planes.
She always works with painting and drawing, which she considers the backbone of her work.
She conceived the jewerly collection "Un Jardin" for Contemporary Attitude
